Company ProfileHistoryIRS was established in September, 1986. Founded, still managed and owned by Mark D. Finkelstein, CRT, the current President of this organization, IRS has grown to be the largest full-service staffing agency in the country dedicated solely to respiratory care practitioners. Founded with the belief that an organization dedicated to this profession could provide higher quality staff and manage the recruitment and retention better than agencies that provide nursing first and everything else second, IRS quickly dominated its originating market, metro-Phoenix, as it still does today. With each new market it enters, IRS proves, once-again, that this dedicated approach is more cost-efficient to the medical facility, as well as substantially complements its risk management model. Active with the Board of Respiratory Care in its headquarter State, IRS constantly plays a proactive role with the AzSRC, and the AARC. Mark was raised in Whiting, by entrepreneurial parents; his father, Marvin Finkelstein owned a successful shade and awning company, where Mark worked from the time he was eight, and Rose Finkelstein was the daughter of a grocery merchant. After moving to Phoenix in 1980, due to the colder climates affecting post-surgical arthritis in his knees, Mark worked for Scottsdale Memorial Hospital - Osborn, now part of the Scottsdale Healthcare System. After experiencing the staffing difficulties with current providers firsthand, Mark founded IRS. Now married for eleven years, he has three children - a ten year old daughter, and eight-year-old identical twin boys.Richard A. Coughlin, RRT - Manager of Marketing and Client RelationsRaised in Roswell, NM, Rick has spent more than 25 years in respiratory care, with the majority of it being in upper level management of several respiratory departments, in Managerial, Supervisory and Directorial positions. Most recently the Director of Respiratory Care for Vencor Hospitals in Phoenix, Rick joined the IRS force in 1995. His experience with hiring and managing respiratory staff from a facility's perspective has been invaluable. Besides being the chief liaison between clients, employees and the company, Rick assists with employee standards development.
